Volunteer Recognition
This month we turn our attention to the outstanding contributions of the Oasis Knitting & Crochet Club (KC Club). This group officially formed during the summer of 2011, when Allan Hancock College was no longer able to offer the program at this facility. The students asked if they could continue to meet, and we were happy to accommodate their request! Since that time, these wonderful ladies (and gentleman) have been generously donating to the new building campaign each month.
This winter, they have been extra busy. Aside from their regular financial contributions, and donations of knitted gifts for those in need during the holiday sea- son, they are making hats, scarves, and neck warmers for women and children at the Women's Shelter to keep them warm during these cold winter months. We are so proud of the many outstanding contributions the Oasis KC Club has made to our community. Thank you for being a part of our organization!

Volunteer Recruitment Drive for our New Hospital
New Service Opportunities at the New Marian Hospital! Are you interested in sharing a few hours a week in meaningful service for the sick, or for those that care for them? If so, new and interesting volunteer opportunities are available at Marian Regional Medical Center. Volunteer service needs at Marian are growing, just as the Medical Center is growing.
Willing hearts are needed to serve in the new facility in a variety of capacities, working in reception, hospitality, providing clerical and patient care support, escorting patients and families throughout the building, and many more! Evening and weekend services have been added to provide opportunities for students, or those employed during the day. Other areas of service include the new Gift Shop, Marian Extended Care Center, and Mission Hope Cancer Center. Spanish speaking volunteers are also needed.
The process to become a Marian volunteer is simple. Just call the Volunteer Services office at 739-3520. You may schedule an appointment for an interview which is followed by a background check and an orientation. Not sure where you might be interested in serving? No problem. Just contact Volunteer Services to learn about the array of interesting and meaningful ways to support the Marian mission of quality and compassionate healthcare for our community. We would sincerely appreciate your cooperation.
