Celebrate Our World 2012
“Black History Month”
Saturday, February 25th
1pm-3pm

Oasis is pleased to receive a generous grant from the Fund for Santa Barbara! The grant allows the Center to present "Celebrate Our World 2012", a special program where for each month a special culture or emerging community issue is presented! The main objective of this project is to promote social change while educating our membership about the joys and struggles that different cultures experience in our Central Coast community. These events will be fun to attend, but we also want you to go home having learned something and hopefully with a new appreciation for the culture presented.

Highlighting Southern Black Culture and its authentic cuisine and entertainment is something worth learning about! Admission is free and open to the public so pass the word around! If you would like to help set up for this monthly event, please call the office and let the receptionist know.  Please come early to get your seat as last month's attendance was full. If you need assistance, call the office ahead of time so we can arrange for someone to assist you! Come with an open mind and heart.

NEW!

The Oasis Computer Lab is complete! Again, these com- puters were donated by Dave Corbello of Vetronics Cor- poration and we are pleased to offer their services to the Oasis membership. They have been outfitted with pro- grams which allow use of the internet, and to create docu- ments, check and send email, and other basic tasks. We will have our computer guru and Tradewinds advertiser, Steve Marcy on hand to show everyone how to safely op- erate these machines. No need to register. Please be here on time and ready to take notes. Thank you to Dave Corbello for the computers, and to Steve Marcy for all his hard work!
